I did not plant this mullein in my garden. It came on its own accord. Why are you leaving it there some people asked this summer. Hmmm, I was not sure. But as the mornings become chilly and fall is almost here, I watch the chickadees bicker over which of them gets to eat these mullein seeds. It got me thinking that leaving things as they are, and allowing life to unfold, can bring about unexpected gifts that in the beginning we are unable to see...not everything can be known at its inception, sometimes it makes sense only later.
